A Kidder County Public School administrator who is known as ‘The Godfather of Class B’ has been honored statewide.  Superintendent Rick Diegel has been named the North Dakota Superintendent of the year by his peers.   Diegel has been in that role for the past 25 years, the last 10 at Kidder County.   He was previously Superintendent at Edgeley.   Diegel even moonlighted last year as Linton’s Superintendent when the school was in need.  His dedication to rural education has earned him the nickname of ‘The Godfather of Class B’ among his peers.  Now as the North Dakota winner, Diegel will now compete for the national award with winners from other states, and be honored at the national convention in New Orleans next March.
